Domaille Mountain Lodge

DOMAILLE MOUNTAIN LODGE

As architects, we might say that this home finds a successful balance between size and intimacy through its massing and spatial play between compression and extension. In other words, smaller more insulated areas are complimented by larger more expansive spaces, and livability is given top priority. The owners chose a lot at Yellowstone Club for a quiet mountain retreat, in search of peace and quiet—but not without luxury. Enjoying dazzling views of snow-capped peaks, this home is a renovated historic hewn barn, indigenous stone, offering ski-in/ski-out access, and an appealing alternate to the sailboat where the owners spend a significant amount of time as well.
